#Twelve inputs
Each month’s readings sit in one scorecard, a JSON file in the kyzen-scorecard/1 format. Its readings come from the twelve inputs below: seven measures of the supply chain, and earnings-call language for each of the five stages. A scorecard may leave an input out, but every stage needs at least one reading.
| Input | ID | Stage | Label as bottleneck |
|---|---|---|---|
| DRAM contract prices | dram-contract | Memory | DRAM |
| HBM contract prices | hbm-contract | Memory | HBM |
| HBM lead times | hbm-lead | Memory | HBM |
| CoWoS lead times | cowos-lead | Fab | CoWoS |
| Fab and packaging capacity announcements | fab-capacity | Fab | Fab capacity |
| Equipment order data | equipment-orders | Equipment | Equipment |
| Datacenter power constraints | power | Power | Power |
| Earnings-call language (design) | calls-design | Design | Design |
| Earnings-call language (memory) | calls-memory | Memory | Memory |
| Earnings-call language (fab) | calls-fab | Fab | Fab |
| Earnings-call language (equipment) | calls-equipment | Equipment | Equipment |
| Earnings-call language (power) | calls-power | Power | Power |
The label is the name a memo gives the constraint when that input’s reading names the bottleneck (The bottleneck).
| Stage | Inputs |
|---|---|
| Design | 1 |
| Memory | 4 |
| Fab | 3 |
| Equipment | 2 |
| Power | 2 |
A stage scores the mean of its readings, so a stage with more inputs does not weigh more.
What a scorecard must hold
| Rule | Value |
|---|---|
| Readings | At most one per input |
| Stages | At least one reading for every stage |
| Month | The month it reads, as YYYY-MM |
| Dry run | Marks test readings; a dry run is never published on mainnet |
| Anything else | Refused: an unknown input, a duplicate or an unknown field stops the month |
The scorecard is checked before anything else runs. The month’s readings are entered by hand from their sources.
#Readings from 0 to 4
Each reading is a whole number from 0 to 4. A higher number reads a tighter constraint.
| Reading | Means |
|---|---|
| 0 | Slack |
| 1 | Easing |
| 2 | Balanced |
| 3 | Tight |
| 4 | Binding |
| Field | Rule |
|---|---|
input | One ID from the inputs above |
reading | A whole number from 0 to 4 |
note | A short note, never empty; it passes the same copy rules as this site |
sources | At least one https link |
Every reading keeps its note and its sources in the memo, and the latest memo on The Scheduler lists them. Anyone can open each source and check the reading.
